(Mujadila) 58 : 13

Do you suffer difficulty for offering charity prior to your secret consultation? Then if you don’t do it, Allah has turned upon you, then you keep up prayer, and give welfare tax and you obey Allah and His Messenger, while Allah is acquainted with whatever you are doing.

Since the poor believers found it difficult to offer charity before the secret consultation with Messenger, the Three Time Knower Lord avoided this through this verse. The Hypocrites who quote this verse as proof for receiving remuneration for teaching the reading of Arabic Qur’an or for teaching the meaning of the verses do not approve Allah that He has already decided whatever they are doing. By receiving remuneration they are filling their bellies as well as their family members’ bellies with fire as explained in verses 2: 174-175. But on the basis of this verse it is allowed to receive fine from those who do not attend the class punctually where Adhikr is explained without receiving any remuneration. See explanation 2: 2-5; 9: 16, 91-93; 49: 17-18.
